What is this Contract thing?

This Contract is an agreement between the MA thesis, the body, the writing, the self and others present in this work (an ongoing self-adjusting process)

The following contract establishes a legal (meaning bound by this text) relationship between all the parties involved in the agreement from April 2021 to April 2022.

This thesis will not cease when the writing is absent. The writing will not cease when the body is silent. The body will not cease when nobody is around. The self can take a distance as long as needed.

This thesis will continue through the days when heaviness cannot move a centimeter away from the body and the days when heaviness is the dust in the corners of this room.

This thesis will remain when the body tries to get away from it and ghost it. This thesis will live on when the body sinks into the 6pm despair. The body will continue to notice the presence of the thesis, the writing, the self and others present in this work anywhere it turns.

The body has the right to break down, struggle, feel sick and exhausted as long as the thesis and writing remain within the body’s reach.

The MA thesis has the right to gesture toward a direction different from the initial one, or toward multiple directions simultaneously as long as it keeps an MA thesis identity as one its identities. The body can ask for help and guidance. The body can commune with other bodies if they want. The writing can be lost in translation. The self can refuse to interpret and justify.

The writing will insist on making meaning or at least on making. The thesis will be making. The body will be making. The writing making the project making the body making the self making the writing.

I am still to learn the specific and complex relationship between the thesis, the body, the “I,” the writing and the others present in this work.

The MA thesis is the project consisting of series of choreographies, performative traces, inquiries into the past, present and future, installations and some kind of long writing.

The body is a 36-years old collection of organs slowly rearranging itself through its chronic pain, disoriented, depressed and amused.

The self is the kind of “I” who is able to keep on writing despite this body is feeling depressed at this moment.

The writing is both the process of typing, the text typed above and below as well as the meaning and extension of the text beyond itself.

The others present in this work is everyone and everything else present in this work a.k.a. OBJECTS OF CARE (follow the link with the same name).
